The city of Detroit occupies an area having\\neight miles of frontage on the Detroit river, and extending four\\nmiles back from the river, the site rising gradually from the water\\nlevel to a height of seventy feet, four miles back. The city has Belle Isle\\npark, of over 700 acres, located in the middle of the river within the\\n2^-mile circle from the city hall, being the finest natural city park\\non the continent.
